Louvre, Renaissance Painting Rooms
For these environments, I wanted to capture the historical look of the space while making it look lived in. I started with a Blender Blockout to nail down the proportions and camera angles before committing to any paintover. The lighting was the real storytelling tool here; I leaned into the warm romantic glow you get with a natural skylight from the windows above to create the atmosphere.
Chateau Courtyard — Exterior
The exterior needed to feel grand but also a little foreboding and intimidating. I used a blockout for scale and perspective, then painted over it to push the mood. I focused on the contrast between the shadow and the light to make the light seem almost blindingly dangerous (to the vamps).
Chateau Courtyard — Interior
For the interiors, I was thinking about what it feels like to be inside a space that grand vampires would like to live in. The paintover was where I made all the atmospheric decisions, how to play with the lighting, how it feels, and where to draw the eye. Getting that balance right was key to making the environment feel like it was doing narrative work rather than just being a backdrop.
